Dr. Miranda Rogers presented the findings of our study “Medicaid Insurance limits patient access to physical therapy services after ACL reconstruction.” We found that almost 50% of physical therapy practices within the great Boston area will not accept Medicaid insurance compared to over 95% of facilities that will accept private insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield). This study shows the disparities of health care as it relates to socioeconomic status. This study has been presented at multiple national meetings and currently is published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine (OJSM). Dr. Rogers won the prestigious Kilfoyle research award for our research study.
